Mrs. Milan has sixteen years experience in education. Her previous teaching experience includes all levels of science, physics, and computing in public and private schools. More recently, she worked as a building and central administrator before returning to the University of Pittsburgh’s elementary teacher certification program. Her expertise in science and passion for teaching are evident in Atlas Elementary Academy’s philosophy and approach to education. Mrs. Milan will be teaching science, mathematics, history and geography to all Atlas students.

Jessica Rosswog

Miss Rosswog’s experience includes teaching English as second language in Japan to students of all ages. She has tutored children at all levels, and is simultaneously completing graduate coursework in elementary reading with Montessori theory and pedagogy. Miss Rosswog will be teaching language arts to all Atlas students. She will also work with students in the areas of practical life and sensory development.

Tim Nee

Tim Nee is the Director of CREC Montessori Initiatives and former Principal of the highly successful CREC Montessori Magnet School in Hartford, CT. The Montessori Magnet School was twice selected by Magnet Schools of America (MSA) as a “School of Excellence”. He has nearly 30 years experience in both public and private education. Mr. Nee provides national consultation with a focus on quality public Montessori programs and manages the Montessori Training Center of New England, a Montessori teacher training institute. He is also the proud father of two sons who attended a primary Montessori school.

    Ms. Conroy is passionate about helping children to develop .an awareness and understanding of how they can play a .part in caring for the environment. She initiated a “Green Committee” at her childrens’ school, Tenth Street Elementary, to help reduce paper usage and promote recycling within the Riverview school district. Ms. Conroy also spearheaded efforts to create a grass roots group in her hometown, .Oakmont, to encourage sustainability within the community.

    Carol Johnson
    Program Director: Art

    Mrs. Johnson has enjoyed working in the field of art education for many years. She is currently an Area Coordinator and Art Instructor for a comprehensive art and education center. Here, she teaches ongoing elementary art classes and facilitates innovative art enrichment programs. Her experience includes initiating community-based art programs, and teaching elementary art classes in several public and private schools, art centers, and community libraries throughout the Pittsburgh area. Mrs. Johnson has a B.A. degree in Sociology and Art, and also works as a freelance artist. She will be teaching art to students at Atlas.
